We are seeking a dependable entry level/apprenticeship Paint Prepper to join our team. In this role, you will help prepare vehicles for refinishing by sanding, masking, cleaning, priming, and supporting the paint process to ensure high-quality results. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to quality workmanship, strong communication, and continuous improvement. Location: Alaska

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Occasional overtime as needed

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare vehicles for paint by removing parts, sanding surfaces, masking areas, and cleaning with appropriate materials

  • Mix and apply filler and primer using spray equipment and hand tools
  • Follow paint manufacturer guidelines and repair procedures
  • Ensure surfaces are properly prepped and refinished to quality standards
  • Perform multiple tasks in a busy shop environment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment
  • Communicate with team members to keep work moving on schedule

What You’ll Bring

  • Interest in cars, auto body repair, and working with your hands
  • Comfort using shop tools and equipment such as sanders, buffers, and spray guns
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to communicate clearly and ask questions when needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to wear proper PPE when required
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
