FROM THE PEOPLE WHO
KNOW CHAZ BEST

“I grew up in the Chaz family, learning the business from the ground up. Before becoming President three years ago, I spent 12 years working across the company—from the front desk to estimating, parts, and production—building a deep respect for the skill, care, and service this work requires.

That experience shapes how I lead today: by understanding what motivates our team to help them build strong careers, real teamwork, and a culture of support.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you already live in Alaska or are considering a move, here are answers to a few common questions about joining the Chaz team.

Chaz Limited looks for people who take pride in their work, communicate clearly, show up reliably, and do right by others. That holds true whether you’re applying for auto body technician jobs or a customer-facing role on our team.

The qualities that matter most here are safety, accountability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Alaska’s roads and conditions are demanding, and the vehicles we repair need to be done right the first time. If you’re someone who cares about quality and wants to be part of a team that holds itself to a high standard, you’ll feel at home at Chaz.

We welcome candidates at all experience levels. Whether you’re an experienced journeyman or just getting started in the trade, what matters is that you bring the right attitude and a genuine commitment to doing good work.

Yes, in some roles. Entry-level candidates may be a fit for positions that offer hands-on learning alongside experienced technicians in a working shop environment. Auto body jobs with Chaz require a high standard of craftsmanship. We take seriously the responsibility of developing people the right way, with proper technique, safety habits, and attention to detail built in from the start.

What matters most for entry-level candidates is reliability, a willingness to learn, teamwork and pride in doing the job right. If you show up ready to work and eager to grow, Chaz is a place where that effort gets noticed and rewarded over time.

Certification requirements depend on the role. For some auto body collision repair  jobs, hands-on experience and demonstrated skill matter most. For others, credentials like I-CAR, ASE, or manufacturer-specific training can strengthen your application and open doors to more advanced positions.

Chaz is an I-CAR Gold Class shop, which means our team is committed to ongoing training and keeping skills current with industry standards. If you don’t have certifications yet, that doesn’t automatically disqualify you. What Chaz values is a commitment to learning and growing in the trade. Candidates who are actively pursuing training or who have a clear interest in advancing their credentials are viewed favorably throughout our hiring process.

Include your work history, relevant experience, certifications, technical training, and any skills related to collision repair, auto body repair, refinishing, structural repair, or customer service. If you have experience with other auto body collision shops in Alaska or elsewhere (equipment experience, manufacturer training, leadership, etc.), include that information to help our team assess fit more accurately.

If you’re early in your career, highlight reliability, attitude, and any training or coursework that shows you’re ready to learn. A strong application doesn’t have to be a long one. It just needs to give us a clear picture of who you are, what you’ve done, and what you’re looking to build.

Our hiring process typically includes an application review, interview, and conversations about experience, fit, and role expectations. For certain auto body collision repair  jobs, the process may also include a shop tour, a practical discussion about your technical background, and follow-up steps before an offer is made.

We try to make the process straightforward and be respectful of your time.

Relocation assistance may be available for select roles based on position, experience, and business needs. If you’re considering a move to Alaska for the right opportunity, Chaz can talk with you about what support may apply to you.
