Technical Automotive Estimator/Blueprinting Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and dependable Technical Automotive Estimator/Blueprinting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will inspect collision damage, prepare accurate repair plans, and support safe, certified repairs from blueprint to completion. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and committed to strong communication, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Location: Alaska. Chaz Limited has five shops in Anchorage (2), Eagle River, Wasilla and Fairbanks.

Schedule: Full-time, , Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; occasional overtime may be required.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect collision-damaged vehicles and prepare accurate, profitable damage reports
  • Write estimates in accordance with insurance partner requirements and company standards
  • Negotiate initial and supplemental repairs with insurance adjusters
  • Research OEM repair procedures and maintain documentation for claim submission
  • Communicate repair progress and updates with the CSR and shop team
  • Explain repair processes and timing to customers, vendors, and partners
  • Identify additional structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage after teardown
  • Write supplements and order additional parts as needed
  • Maintain accurate schedules before, during, and after repairs
  • Prepare damage reports and valuations for non-drivable or towed-in vehicles
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and contractors
  • Help foster a positive, team-centered work environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience as a body shop or collision estimator preferred
  • Education and/or experience in an automotive repair shop, dealership, insurance company, or similar setting
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and technical knowledge
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
